GE Hitachi Canada

"We were very grateful when Ken agreed to participate in a fireside chat that our organization hosted for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Ken’s insights were so impactful. His sharing of personal experiences and of interviewing Residential School survivors were profound and helped build our team’s empathy. Ken’s perspectives on empowering our staff as champions in fostering inclusion and advancing opportunities for Indigenous Peoples within our organization was insightful and also served as a stark reminder of the work ahead. We’re grateful for his guidance and look forward to reflecting his lessons into the way we do business”.

"We were honoured to have Ken present to our ESG, Procurement, and Risk teams on the important topic of Indigenous procurement and risk. His expertise and insights showcased not only the need but also the benefit of integrating Indigenous ways of thinking and doing into our business practices and processes—not only as a tool for Reconciliation but also as a strategic advantage for everyone involved. Ken facilitated an interactive conversation that has led to ongoing dialogue and eagerness to work and think differently”.

TELUS

"Collaborating with Ken is a seamless and meaningful experience. Ken asks important questions about the projects at-hand, is transparent about his approach and gives clear guidance as to how we should work with his artwork. He also wants to understand the projects well enough to contribute as a fulsome collaborator - he shares more than just his artwork but his own experiences and parts of his story through his work.

TELUS has worked with Ken on two projects this year. The first was as part of our recent declaration to not use AI technology to create or recreate the art of and imagery of Indigenous Peoples. His ability to tell a story about the connection between the power of technology, the responsibility we hold as users of it and our role in respecting Indigenous cultures and stories through one commissioned piece, Honour by Design, is incredible. Ken was also commissioned to create the artwork for our 6th Indigenous Reconciliation & Connectivity Report. He provided eight stunning pieces of symbolic animals and with each he shared what they mean to his First Nations community along with their Ojbiway names. Featuring these pieces and their respective significance throughout our report is essential to the overall story and inspired the design of the entire report.

The teams at TELUS who have worked with Ken are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to connect with him through these projects and we are looking forward to finding more ways to work with him in the future.

I highly recommend Ken to anyone looking for a professional, thoughtful and creative partner".

“I have known Kenneth for some time now and worked with him professionally twice over the last year. He has worked with me to deliver an educational panel discussion on the topic of Truth and Reconciliation for the Risk & Insurance Management Society of Canada (RIMS Canada) to help create more awareness on what true reconciliation looks like for all our Canadian members (~1,200). Kenneth also worked with to deliver an educational session for National Day for Truth and Reconciliation at my current employer for all our Canadian employees (~20, 000). The session was focused on the Indigenous experience and how education is the foundation to move forward with a reconciliation action plan.

Both experiences working with Kenneth were well received by the members of the society and the employees of my organization. Kenneth was easy to work with and was quick to adapt to the audience for both sessions, to ensure the right delivery was taken so the outcome was successful. Kenneth is quite knowledgeable from both his personal and professional experience to help one better understand what good looks like when it comes to designing a true reconciliation plan. He is both reliable and resourceful, values integrity and respect which is evident in how he manages relationships and understanding other points of view. The outcome of both sessions had a high impact on engagement, it helped drive progress with our employees and the completion of our mandatory training program.

Kenneth is a delight to work with – a team player with a positive attitude to do the right thing, which is needed to move forward and make progress”.
